License for my Open Source Software

Last updated on August 27, 2019 by Sal Ferrarello

Typically, I like to use apache-2.0

I use the following to download a copy of the license as LICENSE to my project (note: this file is already populated with my name and the year)

$ curl -O https://gist.githubusercontent.com/salcode/309331be360efc02e0a8d0d8356c6353/raw/LICENSE

Ultimately, it would be nice to put together a bash command to pull in a copy of the license, auto-populate the year, and prompt for the name.

I like this idea for a future project.

Why I Use this License

Ultimately, I’d like to provide more information on this choice but for now the information at choosealicense.com has good information.
