Jira Link to Comment

Last updated on December 9, 2019 by Sal Ferrarello

I find it frustrating in Jira that I can not link to a specific comment in an issue.

?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel

Adding the following to a URL displays the page with the Old Jira view, where you can:

  • hover over the comment
  • click the ... link in the upper right corner of the comment
  • click the Permalink item in the dropdown that appears
  • then copy the URL from the web browser URL bar, this will link directly to the comment

e.g.

https://[subdomain].atlassian.net/browse/FE-26?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels%3Acomment-tabpanel

In the Future

According to this Jira Ticket JRACLOUD-70156 Ability to link to a specific comment when using the new issue view, the ability to link to a specific comment is going to re-introduced.
