Chrome Prevent Know Your Location Popup

Last updated on January 21, 2019 by Sal Ferrarello

The Allow / Block popup in Google Chrome is an all too familiar sight when browsing the web, however this can be prevented. We can change the setting to automatically Block all location requests (they will not be able to see your location) without seeing the popup.

How to Disable the “Know Your Location” Popup

Go to chrome://settings/content/location (you’ll need to copy and paste this in your URL bar).

Turn off the Ask before accessing (recommended) setting (the label with change to Blocked and the switch will go from blue to gray).

Now you can close this tab and go about browsing the web and no longer see these popups.
