Shampoo Bottle Protocol

Last updated on May 15, 2021 by Sal Ferrarello

One day I realized that the last 10% of the shampoo bottle lasted at least as long as the first 90%. I suspected this was because most of the time I was using too much shampoo but as I neared the end of the bottle I used a more appropriate amount. How could I trick my brain to always use the appropriate amount?

Impostor Syndrome

Last updated on September 2, 2020 by Sal Ferrarello

Last updated on February 25, 2015 by Sal Ferrarello

In working with other consultants, I’ve often heard the lament, “I’m too nice.” This is wrong. Nice is never the problem. I’m going to explain why I believe, “Nice is never the problem,” and I’m going to talk about how a failure to be firm is often confused with being too nice. Being Nice is […]

Dad Journal

Last updated on January 20, 2017 by Sal Ferrarello

I have two young sons. I can’t believe how quickly their childhoods are passing before my eyes. In an attempt to savor this time I decided to begin writing down things about the boys everyday. I have been doing this consistently for one year. Some of the reasons I think I’ve been successful at this […]

My Wife is a Genius – The Bathroom Clock Every morning as I got ready for work, I’d bring my watch into the bathroom to make sure I was ready on time. Every once in a while I’d forget my watch and have to go get it. Despite this constant use, I wasn’t smart enough […]
